mt058 Black Corolla ‘cold shut’ c30
these are two tapes from newer artists that i feel are indicative of where noise can be headed. there is something very forward thinking in both releases from the obvious HNW foundations of paris’ informelle that are being stretched to their limits to the smashed glass harsh noise of cincinnati duo Black Corolla. these two acts are making very different but equally interesting sounds. both tapes are pro dubbed and come in screenprinted cardstock jackets.
Further evolution into the deeper realms of noise, Verhalten returns with a claustrophobic din of modular cacophony. Harsh noise walls give way to an almost ambient conclusion. This is the first in what will be a series of Verhalten noise releases which will have the signifying code VHNW somewhere on the artwork. If you are wondering about the more beat driven work, don’t fret, there is more of that coming too, very soon. Until then, enjoy the crumble and clang of Oxter. VHNW000-005.
